BRACKNELL TOWN CENTRE, SAT. 22 AUGUST 2009
Ray Earwicker, Lib Dem PPC goes walkabout at 11am
Ray Earwicker, Liberal Democrat Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Bracknell and his campaigning team will be in Bracknell town centre at 11am on Saturday, 22 August to distribute leaflets and meet as many voters as possible to learn about their concerns and what they want from their elected representatives.
Ray will draw attention to the failures of the current Labour Government and the reluctance of the Conservatives to say what they would do in office. He will be offering alternative Liberal Democrat policies to deal with the recession and putting forward, for example, the case for 'green taxes' and the abolition of council tax.
Ray will also spell out the cost of keeping the Tories in office, including Bracknell's existing MP, Andrew Mackay, and local councillors who continue to award themselves increases above the rate of inflation, despite the recession.
Ray will also take the opportunity to highlight the on-going decline of the town centre and the lack of progress in its regeneration. He will call for the demolition of the 3M building, unless it can be refurbished immediately, and emphasise the need for the new 'healthspace' in Market Street to be properly financed so that it can operate at full capacity.
