On behalf of Bracknell Liberal Democrats

Thank you and welcome to our web site.

I have been a Liberal Democrat for as long as I have lived in the borough - some twenty years. I am married to Jill, a teacher, and recently took early retirement from the communications industry.

We have two grown up children both educated at local schools and I had the privilege of serving the residents of Crowthorne as their borough councillor 1993-97.

I trust you find our web pages of interest and you enjoy learning more of our LibDem ethics, ideals and objectives as we seek to build a fair, free and open society with equal opportunity for all.

In Bracknell we know that many residents identify with us in terms of our green policies, how local taxes are raised, our views on how we should face the demands for even more housing and the planning decisions which in many instances have failed to take into consideration the views of local people.

If you agree to our aim of offering the real local alternative to the other two parties' politics then come and join us.

Best wishes,

Steve Pope

Quote of the Week

"It sounds to me like I should vote for Vince Cable. Vince Cable was against demutualising the building societies back in the 1990s when your government was doing that. Vince Cable was sending me as an economics editor emails every three weeks, about the levels of debt through the last five years and he has been instrumental in saying that the taxpayer needs to be protected nationalising the banks and in having the upside risks as well as the downside ones are the way to go."
