Hundreds of signatures were collected on 11 December.

Many people braved the bitter cold to sign our Fair Deal for Pensioners petition on Saturday 11th December in the town centre. We collected over 300 signatures in just a few hours and have a great base to build on our campaign over the coming months. It's clear already that many people agree that pensioners are getting a raw deal today and it is vital we get a fair deal for pensioners by axing the council tax and paying a decent basic pension - helping those who find themselves worse off for saving for their retirement as well as those who have contributed through their lives but are now faced with hugely complex means-tested benefits that many do not claim.

The campaign will continue through to the end of February, so if you missed the chance to sign the petition please either phone Lee Glendon on 01344 450960 or sign our e-petition on this website.
