Lord Rennard, Chief Executive of the Liberal Democrats, discussed the forthcoming General Election with Lee Glendon, Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Bracknell in Oxford recently. Chris Rennard is the mastermind behind the Lib Dem's electoral success in the General Elections of 1997 and 2001 and in many parliamentary by-elections including the Brent East and Leicester South in 2004 where the Lib Dems started in third place but on each occasion leap-frogged the Tories to win first place from Labour.

Lee Glendon said:

"It's great that Chris Rennard is on our side. The Lib Dems are riding much higher in the opinion polls than at the same time in 2001 and the Conservatives are not seen as a credible alternative government - much as Labour were not in 1983 - more and more people see the Lib Dems as the real alternative to a Labour government. At this coming General Election in Bracknell, the choice is between propping up a failed Conservative opposition or voting for the real alternative to Labour and voting Liberal Democrat. Our key messages on freedom, fairness and restoring trust in the Government are finding widespread support amongst disillusioned Conservative and Labour supporters."
