A splendid and sustained effort by Michael Hawkins and his local team led to a solid result in the Binfield with Warfield by-election. Significantly voters gave up on Labour resulting in their candidate coming a poor third - well behind the Lib Dems.

Lee Glendon, Chair of Bracknell Lib Dems commented: "We continue to build on the progress we made at the General Election as more and more people recognise that the Lib Dems are becoming the real alternative to the Tories in Bracknell Forest".

The result was as follows: Labour - 174 votes; Michael Hawkins, Lib Dems - 444 votes; Tories - 921 votes; UKIP - 119 votes. Turnout was 28.4%.
